Recent studies indicate that hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is an effective treatment for aseptic femoral head necrosis, particularly in its early stages, potentially obviating the need for complex procedures such as hip joint replacement. HBOT stimulates the growth of new blood vessels, facilitating the delivery of oxygen and nutrients essential for bone tissue regeneration. Additionally, it can alleviate pain and reduce the risk of infection.
Orthopedic specialists are increasingly recommending HBOT to halt the progression of avascular bone necrosis and prevent the development of coxarthrosis (hip arthrosis).
